L'Oreal colour riche lipsticks - Review

Hiya! Me and my mum are both complete suckers for lipsticks! We both buy too many than we actually need, and steal each others all the time! The other day in pinched these of her to try out, and see if a more expensive high street lipstick is any better than cheaper products! She has three, and I've been using all 3 continuously for a week, to get a general impression of what the products are like, do I want more of them, are the good for the price etc...

The lipsticks come in a lovey gold packaging which feels somewhat expensive! They are very sturdy and have the colour at the bottom and there number at the top. All three smell like Palma violets which I love, but my mum thinks they smell a little old-ladyish. The three that I have are a little battered and old looking, but they have been used a lot and been taken to many different places!

The three that I am reviewing are called: beige praline, boreal/taffeta and nude treasure!

Nude treasure is a lovely golden shade with flecks of subtle shimmer. Its perfect for everyday wear  since its a your-lips-but-better type of shade. Its not the colour of foundation, which I've found to be a problem amongst some other nude lipsticks I've tried, which is great! No body wants lips that look like they've been caked in concealer! I think it would suit most skin types since the shade is fairly shear, however the flecks of shimmer add something different to your lips!

Sorry for the appalling camera work here! The battery's were running out and I wanted a snap of this shade before it died! The name is a bit weird on this lipstick. It says its two shades, Boreal/taffeta, so who knows which one its is! Anyway, it says its a colour which would complement blonde hair well, which I have, and I think its a lovey mauvy nude shade! My mum has dark brown hair and loves this shade as well, and It looks lovely on her, so I think you could get away with it if you had darker hair. It adds a hint of colour to your lips, without being too opaque. This shade wouldn't suit deeper skin tones since its a lighter nude, however if you have fair skin, this would look wonderful!

Last up is the deepest shade of them all, beige praline. This shade is a gorgeous dusky pink nude, with a hint of rose gold shimmer running through it. Out of all of the three I've tested, this is my favourite. It gives your lips a nudey pink shade which I adore, and its perfect for all times of the day. Its subtle enough to wear to school/work, however special enough to wear out for a meal or going to a party. I'm in love with it it and cant recommend it enough! This shade would suit fair/ medium skin, however not dark skin since its fairly pale shade.

102 beige praline on the lips, the camera really doesn't do it justice!

The formula of all three lipsticks is very hydrating and nourishing. The last for around 4 hours without fading off the lips (this is without eating or drinking.) For me, that's pretty good, since lipsticks don't wear very well on my lips! The L'Oreal lipsticks are around the £8 mark, depending on where you buy them, which is quite expensive for me... MUA all the way! However, they wear really well and are very moistening so I'd be willing to buy some more! I know my grandma as one of these in a bright red with gold shimmer, and I love it, so I might try and find that the next time I am out! I hope you all had a good week!

P.S: I am planning to go shopping next week, so look out for a haul post soon!
